Dena Agapion is a licensed clinical social worker, intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) by Dr.Marsha Linehan's trainors. She has been practicing in the field of psychiatry since 1990. The treatment most consumers request is called Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) developed by Marsha Linehan, PhD. DBT is well documented for its efficacy in helping consumers to build a life worth living. DBT was designed to treat Borderline Personality Disorder but has shown to be effective in also treating Bipolar Disorder, Major Depressive Disorders, eating disorders, substance abuse as well as other diagnoses.

Ms. Agapion's DBT training began at Massachusetts Mental Health Center (a Harvard Medical Teaching Hospital) in 1996. After relocating to North Carolina, she continued to providing DBT treatment, as a Team Leader, for The Guilford Center (a community mental health center). Ms. Agapion moved to NYC to join the Personality Disorders Clinic (as an adult DBT outpatient therapist) at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Payne Whitney Clinic/Weil Cornell Campus. Ms. Agapion explained, " I choose DBT because it just made sense when treating complex emotions and behaviors triggered by intense emotions."
